I just purchased a Pioneer 109 dual layer +/- rw drive. When I try to burn a single layer cd with it using nero v6.3 the burn fails right from the start.I have tried to burn an iso image file,a straight data disk even just a jpg. file have made five brand new cd coasters in the process lol, have not done that in a long time.Do dual layer burners just burn dual layer dvd's or do I need some new softwear for burning with the new dual layer burners.I am not a tolal newbie to burning but am a complete newbie to burning dual layer :). There does not seem to be a lot of information out there on this subject yet so hopeing someone can turn me in the right direction.

I can only answer 1 question. The Pioneer 109 can in fact burn both disks, being a dual layer burner I know you wont have any problems fitting heaps on it, I have had mine for a few months now and havent experienced any problems with it as yet. My model is DVR109
