I noticed on a few games that I play that the touch screen was off. I have tried to calibrate the screen several times. When it asks me to test the calibration one of the squares doesn't recognize the stylus. I tried the method of cleaning the crevices of the touch screen with a toothbrush as described on the Nintendo site. Nintendo said if this doesn't work it may require sending in the unit for further repair. Does anyone know what this further repair would be? Would I just have to disassemble the ds lite and clean the area I can't reach or does it require the replacement of the touch screen or some other component.

I can play games on it but sometimes the screen is just a bit off. If you try to play a puzzle game like Crossword Ds it might select the wrong row or column.

when calibrating are you touching the middle of the little square boxes?

I touch the middle of the boxes when calibrating. When I try to test it the top right hand corner box won't read the stylus unless I tap hard or scribble back and forth over it.

This is down to a faulty touch screen. Mine decided to always move the game character or curser to the left I changed the screen and it is now working great. The touch screen is reletively easy to change although yo will need a tri wing screwdriver, the screen costs around £10.

Thanks. I just didn't want to remove the touch screen and find out some other component could be the problem. I'll have to order one. Any recommendations on sites or should I just give ebay a shot?

I bought mine on ebay, it was £9.99 with the tri wing screwdriver included. There are several tutorials on the web, things to watch out for are, the touch screen conector is easy to open and close when you know how - take note on the tutorial and the only other real problem is that after you have changed the screen and put it back together the DS fails to turn on, one or both screens flash and then the unit turns off - this is one of the two large conectors for the screens, if there is a bad connection one one or both of these the DS will not start up. Make sure the conectors are fully home. It took me 3 attempts to get the conectors fully in (I was being too gentle) Good Luck
