I am trying to connect to my computer using remote desktop. Its not working though. I have enabled remote desktop in my system settings and i dont have a firewall yet because i just reformatted my computer and i havent got the updates yet because i havent had time. But i have qwest dsl (256k), a actiontech modem, a netgear RP114 router, and none of its wireless. im running window xp pro. and i am putting my computer ip address in when i open up remote desktop on the other computer that i use.

    hello,

you need to open tcp port 3389 (teminal services) in your nat settings on your netgear router (hardware firewall)
this'll probebly solve your problem !

    hope this helps

Good ! Do the following steps.
1.First you have to make a username and password on your computer.
2.Enable the user to access your computer remotely.
    3.Connect your computer with Internet
3.Try to PING Your computers ipaddress from another system.
using eg. IN the command prompt
    type PING 000.000.000.000
IF you get the reply, it means you are getting the link with your Computer. Now you can use the remote window to access your system. You have to remember one thing the same login which your computer runs you have to use.

If you are not successful. Let me know.
