I am running Xp on a destop directly connected to a D-Link router that enables 2 other wireless laptops.I have had this configuration running for 2 years without problem but as of today, I can't connect to the internet thru the router on the destop. However, internet is connecting fine on both laptops.I called D-Link tech support and they say it's not the router and had me do several tests, including unplugging it but the problem seems to be in my desktop. The only thing I did different was install Nero 7. After that, no connection. I uninstalled it using their Clean Tool but still no connection. I have to connect to the internet but connecting directly thru my DSL modem which of course leaves the other 2 wireless without. Does anyone have any idea how I could fix this?

    Thanks,
    Dee

p.s. unable to use system restore as I had to remove Nero 6 before installing version 7 and now it says it is unable to restore.

try going into control panel then into network connections then right-click on the connection it is and click repair and that usually works for me or you may have to install your router drivers or modem routers :)

Thanks...tried doing that. It says it cant repair because it can't renew my IP address.I have gotten all suggestions from D-LInk tech including checking my Winsock file in case it is corrupted.Nothing works for me.I know the problem lies in the computer itself as the router works for all other PC's on the network.
