On certain movies conversion works no problem using convertxtodvd3, however with certain avi. movies the conversion process will start and about half way through my entire computer will shut down have no idea what the problem is but did notice that when initally placing file in convertx if it says excellent then it will finish but just good and the above mentioned will happen any help greatly appreciated.

I would convert one of the problem files with DVD Flick to see if the symptoms are the same.
I don't know what ConvertX means when it says excellent or good - assume it's the running time of the movie compared to the available space on the disk.
If that's the case, telling it you were using a DVD-9 should change a 'good' to an 'excellent' rating?
