I have spent hours on this one...
I have an avi file; it has multistream audio, audio 1 being french, audio 2 being english. what I can't figure out is: how to extract the english audio from the avi, resync it with the audioless video file, and burn the file onto a dvd for a stand alone player. if anyone has any idea how to acomplish this, I would be extremely grateful. thank you in advance.

You could give DVD2SVCD a try. You'll need a supported mpeg2 encoder but all the other tools are included freeware. On the Misc. Tab you can select the types of input and output. In your case input .avi and output DVD. It should let you select the audio stream(s) you want if the .avi is a supported format.
