My friend records our class lectures on her digital voice recorder. She tried emailing me the file but was unable to. I think it's too large (lecture is about 1.25 hrs long). Is she doing something wrong? If it can't be emailed anyone know how we can post this file somewhere online and then we can listen to it whenever we need it?
Most email systems have quite low limits, perhaps 3 - 5 MB. Use a file hosting site like most of us do: http://savefile.com/
More importantly HOW is it being saved? I have seen audio books in a download library saved as 20 BR VBR. The whole book of several hrs was only a few megs. It actually sounds OK. If the file was saved as a lossless (1250 BR wave file) it will sound about the same but be over 100 times larger. If it is still too big then think about zipping it. VBR is Variable Bit Rate. They have the very best size to quality ratio.
