I just encoded an Mpeg with TMPGEnc, from an avi file. The video file came out just fine but, the audio file is an hour and a half of absolutely nothing. Can somebody help me please?

try demultiplexing the AVI file, then converting it to mp3 or lesser codec and then multiplex with the mpeg otuput of tmpgenc.

    its not a long process.

Open TMPGEnc and close the wizard; on the main page, select options>environmental setting>VFAPI plugin and raise the priority of DirectShow Media File Reader to 2 by right clicking it. If that doesn't do it, encode the audio as a wav file and enter that separately into TMPGEnc as it's terrible at creating audio. Here is a guide using Virtualdub for the wav; GoldWave can also do this but it's not free:http://www.videohelp.com/virtualdubaudio.htm Also, on page 2 of the wizard, make sure to select interlaced. Don't know why that link isn't working but it's the correct one. Just type it in manually.

Raising the priority of DirectShow Media File Reader to 2 worked great. Thanks so much!

@mistycat, if you edit out the "." at the end of "htm" the link will work ;)
