Can someone tell me what Im doing wrong? Ive downloaded a couple movies (dvdrips) and have only been able to successfully burn them one or two times. Heres what Im doing: Convert the AVI files with DivxtoDVD and then burning them with WinAVI. (Ive tried to use Nero to burn them, I have Nero 6 but it always gives me the error that I need to have the Dolby plug in). WinAvi to burn them is successful one sometimes twice with the burning process but after that the discs say "Disc Error" in the dvd player. Ive tried closing the program inbetween burns and that doesnt work. Do I need to re-convert the files between burns??? Ive also tried lowering the speed of the burn with doesnt help either. Is there some sort of limit on how many times a file can be burned successfully? That doesnt seem possible to me but at this point I cant think of any other reason that I am only able to burn once or twice. OR do I need to give the dvd burner a break inbetween burns? does it need a cool off period between burns?
UMM...You aren"t Burning the "Video_TS" Folders Properly with Nero if you get that error message...That is the Message you get if you try to Burn a DVD the wong Module in Nero Like "Vision Express"... If you want to Burn a Video_TS folder to DVD with Nero 6 then you have to Run "Nero Burning Rom" and when the Wizard Pops up select "DVD" as the Media Type and then on the Left Side scroll down till you see "DVD Video" and then select it and then click the "New" button at the Top Right and the Wizard will Close... Then Just Navigate to were the "Video_TS" Folder is and Drag it to the Left side and then click the Burn Button and select your Burning speed (The Lower the Better) and Burn your DVD.... It Might be a Good Idea to wait a Minite or 2 Between Burns so your PC has Time to Release any used Memory and Free up the Buffer but you should be able to Burn all day as Long as you take your time.... Cheers
Ugh that might be the problem. I dont have that version of nero. I thought I had 6 but it must be a previous version. I have been trying to burn with the vison express on there so that explains it to me a bit. I have the version of nero that came with my dvd player. It doesnt have the option of "Nero Burning ROM". Now Im off to try to find that version and refer back to your notes-- Thanks so much!!! Ill post how it turns out for me. (hopefully soon )
Well now Im totally lost. I went and tried to get Nero Burning ROM and it said I was installing a version older than what I already had. So I got curious and found this list of installed software under the Nero Info Tool saying I already have the following: Nero Burning ROM Version 6,3,1,17 Nero StartSmart V 1,0,1,21 Nero VisionExpress V 2,1,2,16 ShowTime Recode 2 Cover Designer Nero Back It Up Application Ok so if I have all of that how come none of it is showing up on the menu. How dO I get to Nero Burning ROM? Heres what I have when I go to Nero:
OK...If you Run "Nero Smart Start" then you should get a window that Looks Like this: If you click "Nero Burning Rom" then it will start and you can then Burn the "Video_TS" to DVD... Cheers
Well Try this...See at the Top were it says "CD/DVD" well set that to "DVD" and then under "Photo & Video" and then select the "Burn DVD Video Files" option and then "Nero Burning Rom" should Open up.... If not then Un-Install Nero and then install the "Nero Ultra Edition" then you should have the "Nero Burning Rom" Module which is the Only Part of Nero that I use because Vision Express is Just awefull and the other Modules are Pretty Much Useless to me.... You can also use "DVD Decryptor" to Burn "Video_TS" folders to DVD.... Also if you Used a Better Method for Putting your Downloaded Movies on to DVD you Could get much better quality and even fit 2 or more Movies on a DVD and have Proper Menu"s and Chapters and Scene selections... I can usually Get at Least 2 Movies on a DVD but even 3 or 4 Movies is Possible if you used a Different DVD standard with between SVCD and VCD quality.... Poeple usually Graduate from Nero vision express to other More advanced Methods after they get a Grasp of the DVD File Structure and the Other DVD standards as The Results poeple get with Nero is usually Not good enough for most Poeple... Cheers
Well since this Nero experience I have switched completely to using DivxToDVD and burning with CopyToDVD which work with each other to covert and burn all in one set up. I love it so far. Its so much easier than Nero. Unfortunately it doesnt have the options for setting up menus and chapters (or atleast I havent found one on there) but it is doing the main thing which was getting the movies from the pc to the dvd player! WOOT! Thanks for all your help man I really appreciate it! Im sure I will give Nero a try later but for the moment I am happy just being able to burn the movies!
