I recently bought norton's internet security 2006, started to install the antivirus DVD, got "fatal error" and everything stopped. I have tried reinstalling - no joy. When I try to use any program I get a message saying that Windows doesn't know which program to use and that I need to create a link through the control panel (I have a vague idea of what this means, having experienced it with some new programmes). I get the same message when I try and run "Settings" to get to control panel. What do I do? Thanks in advance. pagain
http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/home_homeoffice/index_ts.html?src=hho_us is where Symantec will give you an answer ! Just follow the instructions on that page !
Thanks for the reply, it is helpful. However, I cannot access the internet (to allow Norton to scan my machine) because I cannot launch any programmes, such as explorer (or the reasons already mentioned). pagain
No. Just Windows XP. I had uninstalled EZ Armor a few weeks previously, because I was having problems downloading a paid for copy. That uninstallation appeared to have been completely successful. pagain
