I've used a variety of tools, including WinAVI, Nero, etc, to convert some DivX files (TV episodes) to DVD format. Conversion appears fine, plays excellent on PC, sound and all. But, when attempting to play on home DVD unit (Toshiba SD3800), picture is fine but absolutely no sound at all. Not a whisper. I ultimately used ConvertXtoDvd and got perfect results all-around. Yet my question is, perhaps user error, why do these others appear to produce a quality DVD with sound that plays on the PC, but doesn't play on a home unit? Is there a setting somewhere that I'm not configuring properly? I've tried a variety of setting changes, and all seem to still make the DVD playable on the PC, but still no sound on the Toshiba. Any info would be greatly appreciated...
Interesting question! I take it you didn't get any error messages? Can you post your Nero log of the bad DVD? Perhaps your missing a codec?
