I am using Pengo DVD+Rs and am using Nero Burning ROM v7. When I try to play DVDs after I've burned them, I get halfway into the movie and the screens start to freeze and skip. I have re-burned the same files several times and played with the settings but nothing seems to help. The only other thing I can think of is the DVD+R I am using. Please help!

    Hello irshcout.

Pengo only occasionally uses quality manufacturers for their media. Try Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, or Fuji or Sony that's labeled Made in Japan.

Limit your burn speed to 1/2 or less of the rated speed of the media.

Check for firmware updates for your burner.

Are you backing up DVDs or burning converted AVis?

Thanks for the tip on the DVDs-- I wasn't sure if that made any real difference.

How do I determine the rated speed of the media?

I am burning converted MPEG movies.

The rated speed is whatever the media is labeled such as 4X, 8X, 16X. Somewhere on the label will be the speed rating.
