    Hi,
I have burned a DVD, and it works fine on my Computer DVD Player. Althought on my standalone DVD player, it plays fine till chapter 11 than it starts to freeze and play. So it's like freezing and playing! Is that a problem with my DVD player or the DVD? Can anyone help?

    Regards,

Firstly check that your DVD standalone supports the type of recordable disc you are using i.e. +/-

http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers - will help you there!

Check the disc is clean! Please tell me you haven't put a centre label on the disk! as that can offset the disc while spinning.
It could be that the standalone simply doesnt like the media brand you are using.. therefore try borrowing a disc from a different manufacturer from a friend, and at the same time try the disc in your friends standalone player.

Try the process of elimination first. If that doesn't work then come back and try again!

    Hi,
I have the sharp DV - 750, but can't really tell if it works with burned DVD's. There is nothing on the DVD - R, it's just plain white on the top. The DVD works until chapter 11 than starts to freeze and play. I haven't yet tried it on any friends DVD player but will be sure to do that.

    Any more ideas?

More than likely a media problem as suggested....

However, what process have you used - specs/software etc......

Burning the complete area of the dvd can also cause issues like you are experiencing try to keep your limit lower than 4.3Gb as some standalones do have problems playing video from the OUTER circumference of the dvd........

    Hi,
I used TMPGEnc Plus 2.5 to convert my movie to MPEG-2 NTSC, than used TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6 to author than nero to burn it. I am sure that I did not over fill the DVD. What brand of DVD - R do you guys suggest for a Sharp DV - 750?

    Hi,
Thanks for the help. I will try using another brand of media and report the results to you. If that doesn't work I'll just have to buy a new DVD player!

    Thank You
