    hey all

i have reccently downloaded a movie and i wanted to put it onto a dvd-rw , (to transfer the file between 2 computers, not play in a dvd player)

i have tried to put the file on the disc using the windows tools (right click, send to disc) but that comes up with an error messaging that only says

'windows encountered a problem copying the file, what would you like to do' and it then says 'retry and cancel'

i have tried clicking retry numerous times but it just comes up with the message straight away again.

    What can i do?

p.s there are no other ways of transfering the file other than using a disc, as my memory stick will not hold the file, and when i compress the file using windows compressor it only compresses it by something stupid like 6mb (which isnt enough).

I think the integrated burning part of windows sucks.

Do you have another burning program other then the integrated Windows crap? (Nero) If so open that up and choose to make a data DVD and add the AVI file and burn.

k ill be a little more specific.

well the computer is fairly new so it doesnt have any decent software on at the moment and i really needed it to be done today (but thats just me i hate waiting for things lol) so that i could transfer it to another computer that i know has all the neccessary software (to burn the file that i couldnt get on the disc) i think ill try what larrylje said but if you have any better sugestions that would be great
