Problem reading CD from CD-R drive

    Hi

    Whenever i put a CD into the drive, it dont show up the CD's name in "my computer", and the CD does not run. If i click the cd, it says "please insert a CD in drive".

    Is there something wrong with my drivers for the CD-r rom?

    Well, the reason for this can be almost anything. First of all check that the physical installation of your CD-ROM is ok (cables, etc). Is the drive ok, or could it be busted? Uninstall & re-install the device in Windows.

    Oops, I hope your drive is not dead. Turn off the computer, and plug off the data wire of the drive, leaving only the power wire.

    Turn on the computer, your drive won't appear. Insert some pressed CDs, ROM or audio, and see, according to the manual of the drive, if the light states "CD inside" or not. (on/off, red/green, white/blue... it depends on the drive).
