hi all ive just finished building my first computer and have a problem. Im using a Asus A8N-SLI SE motherboard but it work recognize ether my IDE HDD or IDE DVD RW in the BIOS. I have a 350 PSU running an AMD 64 X2 3800+ CUP 1 Gb RAM and a GeForce 7600GT vid card, with no extra card as yet. can any1 help. The HDD is freshly formatted to NTSF format. i dont think there getting any power as my DVD drive wont eject and there is no sound of the HDD spinning up on start up. ive tryed using different Monex connecters which i know works as they have been running the fans. does any1 know what the prob may be or what i can do. is it a PSU problem.

I don't know why it would not recognize the hard drive, unless you don't have it connected correctly. I do know that your power supply isn't going to cut the mustard, especially with a PCIe video card.

The recommended minimum power, with my video card, is 500 watts.

hook 1 drive at a time to see if seen by computer. what is the power requirements of the videocard? what is the jumper configuration on both drives as in master, slave or cable select as both have to be different except for cable select? hd as master & dvd rw as slave if on same cable.
