I installed the new version of Nero 7.01.2 with no problem. I tried to upgrade to 7.05.4 and got the following error: "MFC7149090881.DLL - cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in cabinet file 1A8309D8.CAB". I sent this info to Nero on 2/14/06 and todate have not heard from them. Do they ever respond? I reinstalled the orginal 7.01.2 which works ok but I would like to apply there fixes along with finding out why I had this problem. Has any one else had this error? My OS is Xp Pro, SP2. thanks in advance.

Try a fresh download. It is still 7.0.5.4 but is dated yesterday not from the 6th. So maybe they updated the install process. All the internal apps are still same version as the one from the 6th.

I wouldn't update to this version of nero7 (ver 7.0.5.4), it's very buggy and unstable, caused alot of problems for me. Instead update to version 7.0.1.4b, it's stable and reliable, all problems went away when I went back to this version.

Uninstall version 7.01.2 or 7.0.5.4 using the nero general cleantool found here:

    http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/General_CleanTool.html

After the uninstall is complete, install version 7.0.1.4b, here's the link for the download:

Yeah, they respond. They were quick to respond to me with, "Nero 5 is no longer supported. Please purchase the upgrade to 7..."

    Thanks Johnl123,

I followed your directions and it works now. The only thing I noticed is that the program seems 'slow'. The applications use to open and close much faster. So I will wait a while to install any upgrade patches until things get stable. BTW: I live in CT- USA and as of 5:27pm eastern standard time I still have not heard from NERO Support. thanks again.

Glad I could help, stick to this version until nero cleans up its act with the next release.

    Happy burning.
