Hi. I have a Panasonic NV-GS27 miniDV Camera, and I'm trying to capture a couple of videos I recorded, onto my PC, through the USB port. I know little to nothing about how to do this, but I was told by someone that one way to do this is to use Windows Movie Maker's "capture video" option, and basically have the tape playing while WMM captures.
Said and done, now to playback.
Video looks and plays fine, though the resolution is lower than I expected (320x240). However, the main problem is that the Audio is horribly out of sync. The original is fine, so it's not a problem with the camera.

Does anyone know why this happens? Or maybe another way to capture videos from camera?

For full resolution and better quality, use a firewire card
to connect the camera, and capture the actual DV.
You can use something like WinDV - a free program to do the capture.

It's about 13GB's an hour, so you'll need plenty of space.

You can try PowerDirector to re-capture the videos and see if the a/v sync problem exists either.
Considering the a/v sync problem, I would recommend AviDemux or MPEG Video Wizard DVD to do the repair work. Their "shift" function or other tools are capable of doing this.
