I try to play AVI files with WMP. It did work for a long long time but then suddenly problem started not long ago. I download avi files and try to cut and paste to a folder. As soon as I paste to the folder, error occurs and asks me whether I want to report it to microsoft or not. Then the whole icons and the windows that are opened blinks. After this occurred, it seems like that my whole codec for avi disappeared. Some avi files freezes after like 5seconds during play. Or I can't just play cause it will end up having another same error message. What should I do? [EDIT]After the paste and the error message, even going back to that folder gives me the same error. So I just have to delete the whole folder without opening the folder.
Sounds like another case of MS's buggy thumbnail shell extension. I posted instructions on disabling it in another thread. You might want to look it up.
