I am new to Blu-ray burning and have a problem with my standalone Panasonic Blu-ray player. First the specifics, I have: AnyDVDHD Ver. 6.6.09 DVD Fab 6.2.0.5 TsMuxerGUI 1.10.6 BDInfo 0.5.3 Imgburn 2.5.0.0 HP BD-REBH20LB57A Built-in Bly-ray player & Burner HP PC e9280t Maxell BD-R 25GB Disc Panasonic DMP-BD35 Standalone Blu-Ray Player When I burned a copy of my purchased Blu-ray movie '9', with any of the above formats, I used BDMV and Certificate, UDF and 2.50 Imgburn said it burned successfully. The only format that would play at all was using DVD Fab Movie only and burning there also. It would play on my computer but would not play on my standalone player nor would any of the other burns done with the other above formats. The one that played on the computer would 'read' in the Panasonic BD-35 and would say 'play' but would then "freeze" up the player. I would then have to unplug the player and hit the pause and open to get the disc out. I don't know where to go from here and need someones help badly. As a side note I bought a BD-RE 25 GB so I don't keep burning 'coasters.'
I forgot to mention that I called Panasonic Tech Service and they were no help whatsover! Technician didn't know what BD25 or BD50 was. From there it was all downhill. I really could use some help here if possible. Thanks.
Okay I hope I'm helping here...you are using too many steps for just a movie only back up. Use AnyDVD/HD to back up your BD movie title to your hard drive. Then use DVDFAB BD to BD to back your BD movie file to either a 25GB single layer disc, or if the main movie is too large for 25GB disc then use a 50GB dual layer BD disc. This is the simple method for me as I don't do compression. This is one of the methods I have used often for "MOVIE ONLY" BD back ups. I'm just now learning to use ISO image file option with both AnyDVD/HD and DVDFAB BD to BD which allows for you easliy back up the entire BD title menus etc, to a 50GB BD disc (for true HD) or compress the title if you have the extra hours to do so. The ISO option will allow for you to do main movie also. I use the VSO burning option found in DVDFAB BD to BD with no problem @ all. I do not use imgburn (image burn)at all.
Thanks for your reply. I used AnyDVDHD and DVDFab to do 'movie only' and got the copy that would play on my PC but would not play on my standalone Blu-ray player and froze it up. I used each of the other formats to see if they would work and got nothing even though Imgburn said they each burned successfully. They would not play on the PC or in the standalone. It would seem to be a problem with the Panasonic Blu-ray player but I'm just guessing.
I have the same problem and have all the software you've mentioned. I believe it is the firmware. Don't know how recently you got your BD35,or which firmware you have on it ,but my BD35 used to play my burned Blu-Rays last year, but since the last two software revisions,it refused to play any of them. Contacted Panasonic, and they were useless. Now trying to find somewhere on the net where there are a collection of the old firmware revisions and see if I get them to install on my machines. Somewhere recently i read about changing the header on the firmware to a higher version number so that the older one I find would be accepted by my machine. Want to really get this to work. Otherwise ,the BD 35 is a great machine !!
I Have since gone to using AnyDVDHD to rip the Bluray disc to my hard drive and then go to DVDFab Bluray movie only. DVDFab is a two step process and I burn to a 25GB bluray disc using Imgburn which you can incorporate into DVDfab as your burning engine. It has worked successfully for me since doing this. The Panasonic BD-35 reads and then plays the disc with no problems. Hope this works for you. I have the latest update for the Panasonic player Ver. 2.1, I believe!
It happened to me once I burned a whole tv show, but the disc tray did not open with anything, I called tech support and they did not manage to fix the problem, so I went to the store where I bought it and they replaced it for a new one, Too bad, because next week they had managed to fix the problem and called me home to get the replacement. I did not agree to do so, but now I feel good watching entire hours of fine quality entertainment. cuban cigars Cigars
