I used dvd shrink to burn my re-author movies onto my ridata 4x dvd-r's. I ma trying to make another backup from my original backup, apparently when I try to burn a cpoy on nero I am getting an error message. Also if I try to burn it in dvd shrink it stops in the same spot and doent let me burn it. whats going on? Its happening to all my backups. thanks
what error message are you getting? If I make a copy of a copy, I use DVD Decrypter. MOde: ISO Read to copy from the original copy to the hard drive, then Mode: ISO write to write it back to the new blank disc. Works everytime, unless there's a problem with the original copy.
OK. If you have a problem, Decrypter generates a log, so cut and paste the entire log in your next post. Without knowing the error message it would be hard to diagnose your problem.
open dvd shrink click on open disk and select your drive it shouldwrite the iso to your hd what method are you using. and what errors do you recieve copy and paste log here we will be waiting

What you posted of the Decrypter log shows no errors. Generally, when a sector can't be read, this is a problem of the burner/reader or a bad original disc. Your DVD reader is having trouble pulling the information off the disc. I/O errors. Try cleaning the disc (even if it looks clean) and buffing/repairing any scratches. If this is happening to all of your burned discs, maybe the reader/burner is going out. Try borrowing a friend's burner and see if the cleaned discs can be read there. If so, clean your burner.
If your burner's only a few days old, then I'd say the problem is this new burner doesn't like those discs. Burners are more sensitive to discs than plain old tabletop players. Check your firmware. Even tho it's only a few days old, there might be an update that cures this problem.
@Nykid - latest firmware for 3520A appears to be 3.04 - see here - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/202355 You could have errors on the original copies. Download dvdinfopro (free) and run one of them thru it's CRC check to see of there is any corruption there. Also, using dvdinfo, run one of those discs thru it's media info check so we can see if the media used, is of a decent maunufacturer. Also, i'd like to see any error logs from Nero. Nero logfile is in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log. All burns, good and bad are appended to this logfile so only post the last section of log, omitting the SERIAL number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar.
I just updated my firm ware. I had v1.0 now im updated to version 3.0 Im using Ridata 4x dvd-r blanks. I tried burning the discs again and encountered the same problem.
right, let's have last section of nero log as i mentined in last reply...don't forget to omit the serial number...

@Nykid - - dunno what's going on there, your burner isn't listed here.. hmmm... you haven't got the burner selected when you go to burn.. hmmm... - DMA needs to be on for that drive - fix it like this - - you're writing a single-layer movie ie 4.4GB to a dual-layer ie 9GB disc. Not a problem but very wasteful as dual-layer discs are expensive - - don't know enough about this error apart from the obvious 'CD type reading failed' - sounds like it has a problem with that media - your drive doesn't like/recognise that media - splat! - that's more like it, i'd uninstall Nero, then run the Nero clean tools to uninstall any remaining Nero bits 'n pieces; see here - " http://www.nero.com/en/Clean_Tools.html ", then reinstall Nero, but [bold]NOT[/bold] installing Nero InCD this time. InCD is packet writing software which interferes with standard Nero Burning Rom
error reading media again at 80%..oh well..I guess the media is corrupted on the 5 otehr dvd's I backed up. I did burn 3 other movies without a problem but they werent copy protected.
I dont know if I made myself clear. I am trying to ripp the copy of the movie I had into my computer again in order to make another duplicate..all of my duplicates are not letting me do that.
