I captured some video with my Hauppauge 150. It was captured in SVCD format, 480x480 4:3 NTSC. I went to burn it to a SVCD and it told me it wasn't SVCD format but I burned it anyway. The video started out great, but then started stuttering and pausing and breaking up. What did I do wrong?? Any help would be greatly appreciated
If you used a bitrate more than 2500kbps max... If you used 48khz audio (sometimes messes up a player expecting SVCD 44.1khz audio). If you burned it to extremely cheap disks, that your player may not like too well. If you put on a big sticky label. If you burned a poor disk at too fast x speed. Just because you CAN burn at 48x, doesn't mean you always should, especially for video.
Well the bitrate is set to 2500, I used a Memorex CD-R, the audio was set to 48 so I changed that to 44. I probably did burn it too fast I just let it choose so I'm sure it burned fast. Things are getting better as far as capturing but I am gonna have to do a complete restore its that time I'm afraid so I'm making sure that I have everything in order before I do. HP told me on my extra drive that if I disconnect and take it out I won't lose any info on it - is that true?
Huh? If the drive has things on it, and you remove the drive, you no longer have that info. sheesh, tech support is getting seriously BAAD!

Maybe I misunderstood... If you remove the slave drive from your computer, that information will no longer be available on the computer (DUH!) If it contains programs, not just data, and you return it to the computer after doing your recovery, the programs will no longer work, but the data will remain intact. If it's just storage (videos), you'll be fine. I carry around a spare hard drive, full of stuff for troubleshooting and such. It's easier than packing a DVD-ROM and disks.
