The normal "windows file burning to CD" that comes with XP works great. No problems.
Using Nero, Alcohol, or any other program makes the CD's created absolute garbage. An disk read error in the CD is created. This is after a fresh reformat mind you. Nero and Alcohol produce no errors but the CD created is garbage.
ASPI is fine, drivers seem to be fine, DvDs burn fine.
Changed CD/DVD drive once still got same error. Tryed different media still same error, tryed different speeds, options, all with errors.
I have atleast wasted 50 CD's trying to figure this out. It has stumped me.
Here is the Nero log... incase you see anything wrong..

    Oh god...
All I had to do was uninstall NFORCE IDE driver and turn DMA on.
    Sorry to bother then.

Cool I was about to post. But you got it sorted. If you have more troubles you might want to look into your aspi because I noticed it is also old. Is there a reason you had to use forceaspi or something to get it working before?
