I used to burn data-cd´s just fine, but now all of a sudden í can´t. I can burn any other type of cd´ßs like audio and vcd but not data ones. Nero and the built-
in burner in xp both say that the burning was completed succesful but when i browse my cd i don´t see any files, it says for example after burning 400mb, 300mb free space and i can clearly see the marking on the cd but no files! I think this is very strange and i gave the cd´s to some friends but they get the same thing.
I hope you guys can help me out cus i´m getting really irritated of wasting all those cd´s.

    confused man

Burn to cd-r or cd-rw? I recommend you use ASPI 4.6 and try a freebie burning program called BurnAtOnce to definatly determine that it's not a software issue...

i tried to install sp1 but it keeps failing,
first it said that the language didn´t comply and now it says with another version that the downloaded version isn´t any good.
if there is another way please let me know, otherwise i´ll try to get sp1 to work

I´ve tried burn-at-once and it says "error:could not find toc file" in the command log.
    Anybody know what this means?

Could it be a CD hardware problem? Try updated firmware?

There is a update that is included in sp1 for xp but it is available on the ms website. It is specifically about this problem. It should be at the update site if you haven't installed it already. If you have installed it already then it could be any number of things but if you disable all the junk you don't need from your startup menu like roxio easy cd stuff or any other programs you don't need it may help. If not reinstall xp or get a different burner to try. I would say a quick reinstall would save you from wasting a lot of time at finding the problem. If it is marking the disc the burner is most likely working and it is software related.

Don't know what to tell you. I would try a different burner like I said. You could just buy one, try it and if it works your burner is probably bad, if it doesn't work either....take it back and get your money and format and reinstall the os.

In Nero have you checked the following?:-

    1) In CD-ROM go to 'multisession' and make sure no multisession is checked.
    2) Then go to ISO and make sure level 1 and option 1 are checked.
    3) Select 'new' and then drag and drop the files and burn.

If this still doesn't work then choose CD-UDF option and the same ISO setting and burn again.
