hi, first sorry for my bad english
    j have a problem:
working with dvd decrypter, and also with dvd shrink (j have the last version of these programs), with some dvd (like "The closer", and others)j have an error:
W 09:11:05 Failed to read Sector 328496 - Unrecovered Read Error
this should be a protection error, right?
J have also tried to tuning the setting like "removal method: aggrssive", "remove IFO PUOs, VOB PUOs", but nothing!
    Could anyone help me??
    thank's a lot

    *moved from DVD-R for advanced*

it's a bad factory disc. I ripped Closer using DVD Decrypter.

    Hi JDM,

Yes the latest version of DVDDecrypter works on this movie, what you have is a bad disk, try cleaning it or return for another disk.

Did you watch the DVD on a standalone DVD player or the computer DVD drive? The DVD will nearly always play fine on a standalone player even with a slight defect. It may also play fine as a movie from the disk on a computer DVD drive as well. However, it's still possible to have a defect that will prevent the disk from being ripped since there is little tolerance for error. However, it seems like you may not be using the latest version of DVD Decrypter. Double check to make sure. You could also try using the trial version of AnyDVD. I would do the following.

    1. uninstall DVD Decrypter.
    2. restart
    3. download and reinstall the latest DVD Decrypter.
    4. Try again.

Ummm .... Yes it does, cause that is what I used to rip it :)

You've got a bad pressed disc. It can be played just not ripped properly.

I have tried both standalone DVD player and computer DVD drive, and j watch the film fine!
With anydvd j have reached the gol! But with dvd decrypter (last version, and j have also reinstalled it!), no!
But j want to say one thing more: this is a copy of CLOSER for rent, not for sell, may be that is different protected?

There is no different protection present. Did you return the disk and get another because that is what you need to do, just because it plays on your PC and standalone does not mean there are not scratches or imperfections on the disk. Your reader is more sensitive and will pick up the errors.

Hi everybody, I got the same problem with the same movie (Closer). Dvd Decrypter didn't decrypt anything! The problem is in only one vob file (the number one) I tried to copy it on hardisk with AnyDVD too, but it doesn't work properly: it stopped and told me it remains 21 minutes (for too much time) .
It's a factory problem? or I used in bad way AnyDVD? How did you use it?

    Sorry for english

    Thanks!

Yeah, I just noticed this today, when I was trying to find something for the guy who had the green screen on his movie. Still have no idea why he is getting it, the movie the Son of the Mask has no special protection.
