Okay soooo.. i've been burning episodes of some anime and they're rouhgly around 8 episodes per disc (Nexxtech DVD+R 16x) soo i was able to burn two discs and they both work perfectly on my ps2 and portable dvd player now.. when i burned the third disc(episodes 17-24) i place the DVD into my ps2 and portable dvd player and says "Unable to read disc" i burned this disc EXACTLY the same i burned the first and second can anyone help?
Did u booktype the +R to DVD-Rom? U really should do that for +R media to work on standalone players. Does you burner have a booktyping/bitsetting option? If so always use it for +R. Oh and you might want to consider using other brands such as TYs/Verbatim/Ritek-Ridata and Maxell (MIJ).
Two obvious problems (1) burning too fast (2) using crap media. Slow your burn speed to 4x and buy some decent media.
hi people i'm also having trouble playing copied movies on my stand alone DVD player . they work fine on the pc and i have also tried them on cheap dvd players and they worked too . My stand alone is a samsung DVD-P244 and i use ATI DVD+R discs . Unolord could u explain further this thing about booktyping +R to DVD-ROM ? thanks
Booktyping is the process of changing how dvd players read burnt discs. -R is more compatible with standalone dvd players. If you have a burner that can booktype +R discs all it does is tell dvd players that the disc is a dvd-rom which is how store bought dvd movies are coded. Booktyped +R dics will play in practically everything. I have an LG 4160B which only booktypes +R DL discs and a Benq1655 which can booktype all +R. There are plenty of postings on AD about booktyping (also known as bitsetting). Check either the manufacturer of your drive or google it to see if booktyping is an option for you. If u can't booktype then just stick to -R discs.
thanks a lot unolord I'll try this booktyping thing .... i'm still quite new to this ... have only started this copying business recently . if i don't mangage i'll try -R discs .. maybe the'll work better . thanks again
