problem with eurovox bllue

    just flashed with firmware v2.10
    went to do power scan and it stops part way through and box goes to standby.
    whem i turn it back on it displays 0000 and OSD says channel not currently available.
    have reset factory settings.... still same.
    reflashed, tried all the above... same probs.
    any advice plz?

    What did you flash it with, press menu config system info, post back the details, also have you checked to see if you have a clone?.

    bootstrap= V001
    website= ------
    doesnt look like clone, i:e no red blob (i know red blob is not only indication, but is all i have to go on)

    looking through vent ( dont want to open someone elses box)
    there is no red blob on screw.
    the ribbons are in fact individual wires rather than a ribbon.
    can't see top yang logo
    can see the 5 green 'cans'
    VM (ex CW)

    Weird that the ribbons are the same as a clone and the top yang is missing that too suggests a clone. Has he ad another PSU fitted ant any point?

    friend has had it from new, never been opened or anything fitted.

    also i have the same box, bought from same place, is identical to it.
    that has flashed fine (some months ago)

    Strange one, I wouldnt like to say whether a clone or not as its more like a hybrid,

    Green caps on PSU-Genuine,
    No red Paint on screws-Genuine,(but thats checking without removing the lid)

    individual wiring loom-Clone.
    Top yang missing - clone.
    black behind buttons - clone.

    Entirley up to you if you want to update it with the genuine firmware, your system info above is the old firmware you will find the new one in the eurovox flashing guide linked below my picture, date will show in system info S/W Ver 21 april 08 when flashed. It could be a clone and would advise you wait for me to get a second opinion before going ahead.

    no probs, i'll wait for 2nd opinion.
    i just hope i can get it sorted soon, as they want to watch football tonight.

    also while its doing power scan, when it crashes there is a PEAR OR PERR message on the box display.
