You are running vista? If you are sure your cable is a null modem cable and not just an rs232, try and get to a pc with XP that has a serial port, so you can plug the null modem directly in, it makes everything much simpler.

And you are totally sure your cable is a null modem, where did you buy it? They look the same, but the Null Modem ones say null modem on the packet. Or it should say 'scnm9ff' or something similar somewhere on the cable.

Don't mind the invoice, look at the cable. I got sold one before they said was null modem and it wasn't.

your cable should be female at both ends and the computer should have the same outlet as your eurovox (male) so you may have to use a different comp.

My cable is female at both ends but i do not have access to another pc with a male socket that is why i bought the usb adapter.the usb adapter seems to be working as i have put drivers onto pc and it recognizes the adapter but nothing when i run the software after pluging in the pc throught the null serial lead attached to the adapter. It is really get on my nerves now,i have now ordered another 9 pin null serial lead from a different outlet incase the lead is faulty.

Have a look at HiTecks guide in the eurovox link under my sig.
If you are still having trouble with ports etc, have a look at celtics guide in the starview link under my sig.

Hi m8 is there any way i can check who my supplier is it is either telewest or C & W pretty sure it is C & W but it has put a dought in my mind.My box use to work perfectly until recent,in the past all i done was re-put new codes but even doing that now still does not work.I carried out autp search and it finds channels but when i click on them there is nothing this is what led to me trying to update firmware.Do you think this is the problem or do you recommend anything else.

    Cheers fsollof
