hey i just ripped 10 cds using lame plugin with nero 6 on every single song the time is wrong one song is only 4:30 and winamp says its 7:12 and so on i have been using the alt preset standard and the encoder at 0. did i mess up some how?? thank you in advance andy
Here with files encoded using Exact Audio Copy + lame.exe --alt-preset standard %s %d the file lenghts are shown correctly by WinAmp 2.x. To find out what's the reason you could: - encode some wave files with lame.exe from commandline (lame --alt-preset standard infile.wav) or rip directly from CD using Exact Audio Copy + lame.exe. Same problem? - Check if other VBR files (e.g. downloaded) behave the same - Process the files with a tool called VBRfix - Use another mp3 input plugin for Winamp e.g. MAD - Try other players, e.g. foobar2000: http://foobar2000.hydrogenaudio.org

Sorry - I'm not ready to spend time on things like this. If you have tried to follow the guide and there are specific questions left, ask them here - so others can profit from the answers too. Or - maybe you find a guide that's more helpful here: http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php?act=ST&f=5&t=7516#entry74069 There are EAC forums (English and German) at http://www.digital-inn.de that could be helpful too.
