    Hi,

I am new to the modding so pls be nice to me. I purchased a matrix Infinity SE mod chip last week. Installed on my V5 PS2, check all wires ok. But when I turn it on it doesn't start like it used to be. The fan doesn't start up. I have to press the reset button then it will start. When it started everything work ok but it will only play play original games. Backup games won't work I don't think the mod chip is functioning. I tried instructions that downloaded from the net but all functions seems not working. Now I have a few questions.

1/ how to I know the mod chip is enabled. I read somewhere that the original Matrix has a logo underneath the Sony logo when it start. Does the SE has the same thing.
2/ The RST solder point on the SE board is print in between 2 point. Have I chosen the wrong point to solder the wire. I assumed RST is beneath point Y(please see attached picture of the SE board)

    Any help would be appreciated.

It is a SE version so it is a clone not a fake.

    Hi Tokijin,

R U sure I have to upgrade the firmware cos it was not stated on any of the instructions that I downloaded form the net. I don't want to ruin the chip.

    Cheers

Do not flash the chip you will kill it!!
It will already be flashed as it is a MATRIX CLONE!!

Oh okay, thanks ps3mods. Sorry about the shite advice, that's not my forte. I assumed since the chip runs off my MI Firmware 1.54 that it could be flashed with it as well. I know if you flash a modbo with MI firmware it will fry it, I didn't think this was the case with the Matrix Infinity SE. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I checked with a couple modders and PS3mods is correct. If you flash it with anything after MI firmware v.1.40, you'll fry the chip. The flash on the clone chips is preflashed onto the chip itself and is permanent. Again sorry for the wrong advice. I'm not wrong often, but when I am, I try to learn as much as possible to not repeat the mistake. Cheers!
