I'll try to describe it as detail as possible. Hope someone can help me out.

I have a large .mkv video, its stored in multi-part .rar files. Unpack it to aother hard drive, everything is fine.

However, when I playback with vlc player, at some point the video will stop, and in the error message window, it says
"access_file error: read failed (Permission denied)"

The strange thing here is that, when I delete the file and upack again from the source file, rar files, the error will be at different point of the video.

Previous part that have error now played fine, but somewhere else in the video will have the same problem. I also unpack it to different hard drive partition, the error still occurs

With that, i figure that the original video should be intact with no error.

But I don't know what is causing the error once I have the video out in one piece. Does anyone know what this error means, or where should i look for the problem here?

    Thank you very much

Edit: I forgot to mention, I have 2 different video, both having the same problem

How big are the MKV files in question?

Does it play properly in Windows Media player?

    NTFS partitions?

Something strange with the file permissions?

Look in the event viewer for logged messages related to this.
