Hi there. I recently got a Nintendo DS for free from someone, because the top screen did not work. I'm guessing this is a faulty loose connection or something? Apparently he accidentally stood on it, and the top screen now does not show anything. The bright white light will stay on when it's supposed to, but will not display anything. Any suggestions anyone?

Thanks a lot in advance :)

Well, you could try just opening the case and looking for visible damage.

Or ship it off to Nintendo and hope it's a cheap fix.

Hmm I don't even know what kind of screwdriver is required. I'll try taking it into a local shop or something though. Thanks Venom.

The screwdriver you'd need is a tri-point screwdriver, which is the same one used with the GBA.

    As an example: http://www.mod-chip.com/en/gba_screwdriver.php

Good luck with it. Even if you have to pay a bit, at least it'll still be cheaper than buying one :)

If your going to be opening the DS yourself, you could always buy a replacement screen off eBay, I see them going for £10-£15 every now and then.

    Should be a loose connection.

I phoned up a local shop and they said they charged £40 for a new top screen fitted in. Hmm, I could probably buy a pre-owned DS off ebay cheaper than getting this one repaired! I will try some DS repair sites. There's not many around though.
