Ok,I bought this drive a few months ago and it was working with no problems until recently.Every time I put a disc in it wont read it,and if I click on the drive in "My Computer" it locks the PC up(it does this in my old PC and my newly built one). Any ideas on what the problem is?
check your jumper blocks on the back of the drive try a new ide ribbon cable remove it from your device manger and allow windows to reinstall it apart from that I would say it is faulty return it under warranty
Tried that and it still doesnt work,windows detects and installs it but when I put in a disc all I hear is a clicking sound and it wont read the disc.
