i just bought the new LG Lightscribe dvd burner gsa-4166b it came with Nero express and when i put in a R+ 16x writeable disk it will only let me copy at a burn speed of 4x and when i put in a R- 16x it will let me burn at 16x speed. is there anything i can do to get the R+ media disks to burn at the 16x speed. the nero express automatically greys out the 4x burn speed and wont let me change it.

You will find that the majority of members here at AD will recommend that you burn at around 4X...burning at high speed will cause burn failures and in some cases poor quality results.
Another recommendation is to burn at half the recommended disc speed, assuming you are using TOP QUALITY discs such as Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden or Sony that are made in japan to mention a few.

thank you, i will keep burning at the 4x speed then. it is just weird that the nero program does that. i also have a toshiba dvd burner and nero will let me burn at 16x speed for the R+ media.

It's a good rule to follow, cuts down the chances of failed burns, Cheers.
