problem with Pioneer DVR-108 please help!!!

    hi i'm new to this board. so hi to everyone. i just bought the new Pioneer DVR-108 with a BYTECC 5.25USB 2.0 External Enclosure, Model "ME-320U2B" instralled. however nero or dvd shrink error out. can write dvd. can anyone help?

    I can't say. I just bought the DVR-A08XL which writes dual layer. Some recommened this drive over the Sony DRU 710 and I hope I don't regret it. What I was wondering is did your external enclosure come with an 80 pin eide cable? I guess most do, however that was a caveat mentioned for speed.

    Why the SCSI command if it's a USB enclosure?

    One other item perhaps most important I'm hearing is to verify and keep up with firmware code upgrades for compatibility issues altough again I think its not related.

    Man alive, I looked at the link reference by davelarge and there are sure alot of problems. I gotta get my drive fired inside my firewire/usb enclusure with my C800 laptop and see how it goes.
