    Hello,
I have a Dell Dimension 4500, Just installed a DVD burner and kept my 48x CD rom drive.

I now have trouble ripping audio files (*.CDA) with CoolEdit Pro or other programs. The output files don't exceed 44 Kb, ripping (for example with batch File Convert in C.E.P.) is finished in 1 second.

So I can't get any WAV files, can anyone help me?

I'd try Exact Audio Copy (EAC). It can use Windows native interface (ASPI) as well Nero ASPI (copy wnaspi32.dll from Nero folder To EAC folder and adjust "Interface" setting in EAC. One of bothe ASPI possibilities will work hopefully.

A good EAC setup guide is here: http://www.ping.be/satcp/tutorials.htm

try downloading adaptec's aspi layer (which can be found on this site)...also make sure the property settings of the dvd writer and cd rom have the
    DMA box checked..
