Does anyone else have any problems with some games with their router? I have some off brand "11g" router and i can't get online with motorstorm and i can't join games in warhawk, unless i connect directly to my modem. I can, however, get online with those games if i bring my ps3 other my sister's house, where she has a Linksys router. Do you think a better router would fix it? Any help would be appreciated.
Sounds like your routers firewall may be blocking the PS3. See if your router has a DMZ setting and set it to the PS3's ip address, this will put your PS3 outside your routers firewall. If not, find out what ports the games you are playing use and set port forwarding on your Router. I think different games use different ports on the PS3. Failing that get a different router if you got the cash,linksys seem to be pretty good with consoles.
i'll look into the firewall, good idea. but i've tried the port forwarding and i haven't gotten it to work.
Firewall would not be the problem as this would cause you problems with both direct and wireless connection.
