I copied vob files from a dvd with dvd shrink and then converted the vob files to divx with dr. divx. And when it was done it work perfectly. The video was good and the sound worked they were both in sync. But I don't know why but about an hour later I open the video again and there was no sound, only the video worked. I don't know what I did. Can someone help me out on how to get the sound to work again.
Stuff I can guess you made: - that AVI has AC3 sound and you disabled the AC3 fiter; - that AVI has MP3 sound and you disabled the MP3 filter. You sould first open that file with VirtualDubMod, than do File___File information. You'll see there, the information you need. Then you can do Stream___Stream List Demux the stream. Try to listen to it. Try to listen to other MP3/AC3 sreams, to see if the problem occurs with every MP3/AC3 file or only with that one. (I might ask you to decompress it to WAV to listen if the sound is 'empty', but you said the sound existed, before, so I won't). Please note, that if you don't have an AC3 filter you must install it. If you don't have a MP3 filter, run the free application named DirectShow Manager (DSFMgr.exe). On DirectShow Manager add the filter: [bold] C:\WINDOWS\system32\l3codecx.ax [/bold] (or someting similar. l3codec.ax is the DirectShow's (Windows) MP3 filter. Otherwise, post here the result of your tests... In general, take care and avoid installing codecs packs. Usually they are the one which create conflicts. Having AC3 filter and the DivX + Xvid Codecs are usually enough...
