Hello guys, i hope that someone can help me.

    I have P4 3.4 S775, 200GB ATA, Asus P5S800-VM, 1GigPC3200, FX5900XT (all hardware work fine)

I have formated hard disk and installed Windows XP, everything seemed to be fine. Then the start up process was a bit slower then i used to have. And the windows start up sound is twitching like something is slowing it down.

I have done all the updates, and cheked for viruses and spyware just in case. But it didn't help.

Then i have tried to transfer file from one partition to another, it was very slow.

i've tried 3 different versions of windows xp, but the problem remain the same.

What should i do? does anyone experience the same problem as i have?

    Please help!!!

    Regards,

    Stas

you may be using an old ATA cable which would prevent your hard drives from functioning at full speed. make sure the cable is a new ATA 133 cable rather than an old ATA 66 cable. it can make all the difference
