Hi!!! I just recently started burning with Decrypter and using Shrink. I had no problems until after about 8 DVD's, everything was going fine and then after the encoding process and the writing process actually begins, it wouldn't make it past 8%. It said at the bottom Writing Image and the estimated time left was unknown and the Write Retries section would say 2 times. And I left it like that for an hour and nothing happened!! I thought it was just a fluke accident, but then after a couple more DVD's it happened again!! And it ruins my discs, so I need to know how to fix this, what I'm doing wrong!! I use Sony discs that hold 120 minutes and I follow all the directions on the guides exactly. Do I need to shut down my computer after every disc I burn or maybe burn less discs?!?! I did about 8 in one day. Is that too much?!? I'd appreciate some help!! Thanks guys!!!) --Sarah

    princess9--
Hi--I also use DVD Decryptor to burn and I see a couple things it might be--First, make sure your hard drive is defragmented--After several movies, the encryption process (from Decrypter or whatever program you use to rip) and also the burn process cause fragmentation. You say the message "estimated time left was unknown and the Write Retries section would say 2 times"--Have you tried other DVD's to write on--different brand?
If neither of these work let us know--Good Luck

OK what else is running on your computer during this process? It sounds like your resources are getting used up and therefore causing decrypter to freez. Do you have any packet writing software installed like INCD or Direct CD? You could also make sure your writers Firmware is up to date.. If you don't know what that is just go to the manufacturers website and look in there download section for your model number and follow there instructions. When is the last time you defraged your hard drive? If you can't remmember then its been to long. Go ahead and defrag your hard drive and clean up your computer the best you can. Some other good reading for you would be that second link in my signature. you may just want to check that out it could save you a lot of heart ache..

Cheers and welcome to AD :)

Dangit Whit i was slow on that one hu? ;-)

Wow...thanx guys!!! Ya'll are great!!! I did have some extra stuff running in the background like Spysweeper and an anti-virus control center, so I shut those down and I think it is working fine now!! I will check that second link about the defragging thing though just in case!!! Thanks so much for getting back to me so quickly!! xoxo, Sarah
