I have always used DVD+R DL with no problems, but recently i made a mistake and got some DVD-R DL instead. I went to read up on burning Xbox360 games on DVD-R DL and learnt about the Layer Jump Recording. I burnt with it and it worked, loaded into the game. The problem now is, when I try to re-rip using the same disk, i have errors reading sectors 193XXX (since it 'jumped' after sector 1913760 or something, presumably near the end of the first layer. Help would be appreciated.
I am sure that you have something mixed up. that its impossible to burn a 360 game on DVD-R DL because its impossible to set the dual layer break on the disc to make the 360 read it ...the 360 laser works only for DVD+R DL.
i am playing the game burnt on dvd-r dl with no problems at all. in fact i searched the web and found a thread which the user used dvd-r dl and completed the game with no problems. he also burnt the game using Layer Jump Recording. how it roughly works: using the LJR, the lens skip some sectors after 1913760 and start writing on another sector(the other side, presumably) to ensure compatibility with xbox360. the thread starter insisted on using only Samsung Drive. im not sure if thats the case, but mine is also samsung.
