hi i had a console free off a mate and it had e74,so fixed that problem with paste and screws, turn it on no red lights so i go to put a disk in and the disk drive does not open even off the dashboard.

i tried opening manually and put game in but no joy its not spinning or anything.

i put the drive in another xbox and it worked fine, does this mean the motherboard is screwed?

Did you connect the dvd connectors in the first xbox 360? That might be your problem. It's easy to forget sometime, I always forget to put the eject button back on when reassembling the console.

    Is the power light flashing?

I did it myself last night infact.

Had to take the thing apart and reattach the cables

When you created a new thread did you missed this?-

    Please choose your title carefully!
    · Try to be specific and explain the core of your problem in your title. Many users make the decision on whether to read your message or not based on the title your thread has.
    · Don't use exclamation marks (!) in your title
    · Don't yell (meaning that you shouldn't write your title using ALL CAPS)
    · When somebody replies to your thread, whether providing his/her help or asking further questions, be polite and reply back -- tell the user whether his/her assistance helped or not or if you already managed to solve your problem on your own.

i could, but i have adopted a new policy for helping people. if you are to lazy/stupid to even put a proper thread title, all you will get is a 'nice title NOT' reply with no further assistance until the title has been changed. im sick and tired of seeing a one worded thread title.
