    I love my DVDRW to death and its work along side DVD shrink and AVI2DVD but it's been showing some bias toward my media lately.

    It used to act up once and a while with a particular brand of disk but things got worse when I updated the "recommended" firmware. It completely ignores blank CD-R/RWs, rarely chooses to open finalized CD's that it has created in the past, but works fine with DVD's.

    The drive used to be able to boot live/rescue cd's before the update. Is there a way to rollback the firmware or is there some other cause?

    Running Win XP Home (Occasionally Slax or Myah Gnu/linux) on a Compaq SR1510NX

    I have the same drive but lately mine has been acting weird in opposite way. I just upgraded to the new f/W 1.02 and now it recognises the cd's but not any brand or type of DVD's :(

    @Jotter87

    Try this,this may allow you to roll back to your previous firmware.

    Go to my computer,click on view my system information.Click on the hardware tab,then go to device manager.Once there,click on DVD/CD Rom Drives,right click on the drive in question,go to properties then click the driver tab,you will see four choices,click on "Roll Back Driver" and normally you'll be ok after that.

    Hope it works,if not,maybe others will be able to help you on that.

    keep us inform about the result.

    Vincent.
