I've had porblems recently with my Nero and DVD Shrink, but i thought i had solved them with help from members. Its been working ok and i've managed to do 10 or 12 successful burns until today when more problems have occured. Sometimes the burn fails at the very start, sometimes halfway through. From the burn log below, its failed part of the way into the burn. Can anyone please help and identify the problem(s)!! These are easy fixes. (Your burner is having trouble syncronising with the media.) 1)- Update your firmware. http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_all.php 2)- Use better quality media. http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm The following list is in preference order. The best discs are near the top of the list. The discs at the bottom of the list are suitable only for a landfill. Almost flawless burns with 95-100% reliable results: PVC = Pioneer = (-R)(-RW) MXLRG01, MXLRG02 = Maxell = (-R) ... be aware of unbranded fakes MCC = Mitsubishi Chemicals = (-R)<-----------------VERBATIM MY CHOICE #1 TDKG02 = TDK Corp = (-R) ... be aware of unbranded fakes TAIYOYUDEN or YUDEN = Taiyo Yuden = (-R)<--------------FUJIFILM (made in japan) MY CHOICE #2 Decent discs, though not perfect, about 85-95% success rate: RICOHJPN = Ritek or Ricoh = (+R) SONYD04 = Sony = (-R) ... be aware of unbranded fakes Cheers!
I only recently updated my firmware about a month with the help of a member. Do i need to do it again? If so, i'm not exactly sure what version for my NEC drive i should be downloading? I also changed the media i was using recently. I was using garbage previously which i've dumped and will never use again, but i'm now using Verbatim discs. What i can't understand is it was working fine with my current firmware and media then it jacks it in??!
