I am unable to backup 'Crash'. I irst tried using DVD Dycrypter with DVD 43 running in the back, but I kept getting errors. So then I tried to only have the DVD 43 running in the back and use DVD Shrink. But then it also ran across an error and wouldn't continue. Has anyone been able to ack this movie up?
@wtrgrl5 Try turning off dvd43 while ripping w/ decrypter. It can sometimes cause problems. Try cleaing off the disc also - i'm assuming you're getting read errors and maybe a crc error w/ shrink. Wasn't anything special with this one that I remember + GlueEater used just shrink so I think your problem it a dirty/scratched or bad pressed disc.
I backed this movie up with dvd xcopy and DVD Region+CSS Free and also with dvd cloner 3 using taiyo yuden 16x discs with no problems
I had absolutely no issues backing this up with AnyDVD, Shrink and Decryptor. Make sure it's the newest verion of AnyDVD. Could also be the original disc or the media you're using. I always burn it as an image, if that helps.
I have run into problems on several backups that respond to "...unable to read sector..." and "...invalid file format..." and all with no luck. I tried to ignore errors, but after 1.5 hrs and 2k ignored sectors I QUIT. F*** IT. I was going to go over to a buds places and he says he never had a disk he couldn't crack, but I haven't made it over yet. On a side note: made a backup of and older disk (and we ussually watch the backup and preserve the origional, but my freekin lazy offsprings were playing the origional and then happened to step on it and seperate the layers. Its trashed of course BUT I made a BACKUP so what the H***, plop the backup in and !!! READ ERRORS :[ I can't backup the backup??? I'm thinkin that I melted @ "max" and maybe didn't get a Full burn! ??? whadaya think :| gonna start a new post-
@sparkyc Burning at max can cause problems - another biggie is what brand of discs did you use? Stick with the good stuff like taiyo yuden and verbatim.
thanks dude. (was that guy talkin arabic or somethin??) As much as I waould like to able to chose at will, my local selection is all but limited to the Sony brand @ yes you guessed wallymart. Soooo that being that, a slow down in process speed might help eh. I believe I tried that with decrypter, but It still burnt @ x4.? I believe I had set to (?) 2. I don't know why it didn't take. I believe I even got out and came back in, and the same outcome x4. + I've been dooin this for a while now and let me tell you , some days are better than others buy longshot. like sex with the old lady - just another chore :} ...oh s*** here she comes >
@ binkie7 I tried what you said. TUrned off VD43 and just ran DVD Decrypter, but this is the error I got at 56% total. I/O Error! @wtrgrl5 I/O errors usually mean somethings wrong with the disc - scratched, dirty or bad press. Try cleaning it off. You may have a bad press if it's not dirty or scratched. Here's some options: *Try another drive - if you have one - some are better than others at ripping. *You can also try ripping it in iso mode in decrypter then opening the disc image in shrink and go from there *Try another ripper - the only other one that may work is dvdfab decrypter - after it's ripped you would then open the files in shrink. *If doing a full back up try movie only If all fails you'll need to exchange it for a new one.
If all that doesn't work then you could try DVDFAB which is pretty good at handleling problemed disc. Of course DVDD was also very good at troubled disc, so...
I think it is the disk being too dirty. I cleaned it and then the DVD DYcrypter worked, but then Shrink couldn't open the file. Anyways, the disk is in pretty bad shape... oh well.. thanks everyone
@wtrgrl5 Shrink should be able to hanlde the ripped file w/ this one. What error are you receiving? Did you rip in file or iso mode? You're 1/2 there!!! @GlueEater Yep - I agree decrypter is the best (imo) for handling those discs!!
Here's what you need to do: **100% success regardless if it's RipGuard or ARccOS, no AnyDVD or DVD43 required. All tools are free, except for Nero** <> rip the movie with DVD Decrypter via Mode, File F to your hard drive <> or rip the movie with DVDFAB Decrypter 2.9.6.8 to your hard drive <> VobBlanker version 2.1.0.0 to process and filter out fake/bad cells <> encode/transcode with DVD Shrink or Nero Recode 2 <> now burn it with any of your desire VIDEO_TS burning engines That's it... easy as sippin' on some Hennessey.
