Hi all I have a NEC3530A burner. I can burn DVD's fine but since upgrading the firmware to 3.01 I have been unable to burn CD's. I've tried all sorts of different media but it fails everytime. I've tried putting the old firmware back on but that didn't solve the problem. It fails if I use Nero or Roxio. This is the log file of the error. Please help someone! I'm just a newbie here, but if I remember correctly, the CD and DVD burning use different lasers. It would seem strange that changing firmware would cause a problem with one of them, but I suppose that might be a possibility. I would probably try a different burner to see if the results are the same. Also, I guess you could use Nero InfoTools and see if the burner supports CDs still.
