My dycrypter fails to burn. It starts to fill the buffer and when the log says Writting LeadIn nothing happens. Any idea guys?
@kisielews - Right, here's what i saw, and what i think so far... - this would appear to be the latest firmware for your drive - you have way too many processes running during the burn, 512MB is a sexy amount of memory, but it's been stolen by something(s). - 4482MB is the outer edge of this disc, you're attempting to burn virtually to edge of disc. Change this in DVD Shrink to 4300MB, it's in the preferences. - your drive thinks it's a +R disc, but it doesn't know any more than that. - slow it down, movie burning has much less chance of error in the resulting disc if you try say 4x, which is only 15mins to burn - it can't recognise that media - splat! We need to see if you're attempting to use good or bad media, well we just need to verify whatever it is as your drive isn't being forthcoming. Download dvdinfopro (free) and run a media info check of one of those discs, pasting results here. Now, at the top i said your firmware is up to date on the burner; however i've been following this thread - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/199272 - you 'could' maybe 'crossflash' this drive into a BenQ DW1620, so from then on it would 'be' a better drive. Now i think you should read that link and this one - http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=126715 and weigh up the findings of the ppl that have done it. Basically, changing firmware to make this drive appear to be something else, could void your warranty, that decision is up to you. See if any of that makes sense or seems reasonable and we could go from there. What concerns me is that your drive seems up to date but can't recognise the media. Do the dvdinfopro thing and let's see if we can figure out if it's like real new media. If it's not then maybe we should consider morphing this drive into a Benq. Also i know someone who has a Benq DW1620, i'll PM him and see if he concurs
@petrol123 - just saw your thread peeking out there, will try and sort you an answer soon, or someone will pop by and help ya till then...
ok, ill try downloading the dvdinfopro. I changed the thingy to 4300, but how do i change the speed??? I didnt understand any of the other stuff you said... Ill look at those links right now, and sorry to keep u waitin for a answer.
not at all, no probs. i do have a habit of maybe not always un-geeking my replies, i guess i do it so as not to accidentally patronise ppl by assuming they know what i'm on about.. The crux of it is, firmware is what teaches a drive about types/makes of media, burn speeds, etc etc, so if firmware is out of date it can't cope with newer discs, and more often that not, goes splat. as to speed of burn, always put a disc in before starting the burn so Nero checks the disc first for available speeds, therefore allowing you to pick a speed. If you start the burn first, then pop a disc in, Nero has already picked a speed for you, overriding whatever speed you want it to. I can't remember how it guesses a speed when you don't put the disc in first; i myself ALWAYS put disc in first to avoid hassle, so thats why i never remember. Again, without new enough firmware, Nero is gonn a struggle to know what to do...
I just read those 2 links and...the first one is 2 people yellin and arguing about computer stuff...and i dont get the second one. Oh, and wat was the exact name of that program that u wanted me to download?
the prog was dvdinfopro, it should help towards identifying the media a bit. oh i remember the yelling in that one now, that reply from the moderator (flip218) was priceless , i was rolling around when i saw that one, well worth reading just for that lol
don't worry about not understanding those links, i'm just trying to weigh up whether to morph this drive to be something else. Mort81 will hopefully join at some point, i've called on his help as he has a Benq 1620.
ok, there was one more thing i wanted to say. I sucessfully burned a few disks. I sucessfully burned seinfeld seasons 1+2 but the problem arose when tryin to burn season 3. I tried with both the first and second disks and they both had the same problem... oh and is this the program u were talkin about, http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd-r_tools/advdinfo.cfm
nope , ive not heard of that one -try this - http://www.dvdinfopro.com/ - get the free one with adverts tho...
ok, ill download it then. Oh and is there a way that the 3rd season of seindfeld has more or different protection?
(finger in the air!) re seinfeld - i highly doubt it, and even if it did, decrypter would bitch-slap it down
lol, ok. Oh and it might take me a while to find out how to use the dvdinfopro thing, so please be patient. Ill look for a guide now. (ps-i use nero, not decryptor...)
lmao, dont worry 'bout it. i'm having a nice cold guinness on the boat (i live on it) as its been 31C here today (a miracle as i'm in UK) so am popping in and out when my email beeps at me. i subscribe to so many posts, it's beep beep beep lol
while ur sittin around playin with the computer the rest of us are outside workin.oh, nad dont call me a lmao.....lol
work - dirty word!, i tried to do some of that today, but there wasn't much on today so stayed on afterdawn as best as i could
so, are u having any luck of finding out wat the problem is? Remember that was the point of posting this thread...If there isnt anything else u could find that i could change then ill try to burn the dvd again(after i figure out how to use the DVDInfoPro)
i'm helping you on my free time...... ...and am waiting on you.... in dvdinfopro use the 2nd icon from top left for a media info check...
