i'm still here, was searching thru my posts for some dvd shrink overviews...

start reading my 2nd reply here -

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1/200558#1083526, then follow one or both of the links i added in there, for bbmay and scubapetes excellent guides for shrink/decrypter....

    - sounds like you need to get your data shrunk to 4300MB (4.3 gigabytes) first

Sorry, I was involved in another very lengthly post that took some time and probably was of little or no value. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/2/198362 I'll be around but I still think you need to start fresh, useing bbmayo's or pete's guide making sure all settings in shrink are correct. You can try ripping with shrink but may have to rip with dvd decrypter depending on css encryptions. Either way those guides provide instructions for both methods.

    bbmayo's guides. http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/index.html

    scuba pete's guides. http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/petesguide2.html

DVDCopy3 is a very good transcoder, 2nd best to only RB/CCE in my opinion. Only drawback (as with many other transcoders) there is no way to select burn speed useing it's built in burning engine other than useing a burner or media rated at only 4x or slower. I was providing a method for transcoding to a folder on your hdd then burn the folder with nero at a speed of your choosing. The video quality is much better than shrink (even with all quality options checked) and at least twice as fast.

back to start as it seems the rip in question needs dvd shrinking so it will fit. There's also a firmware issue that needs sorting. I think mort and myself agree that it's worth crossflashing the philips to become a Benq DW1620...

over to you as i'm retiring for the night. well to watch a film with kids. will catch up with you lot in the morn

@kisielews - good luck, we always get there , by hook or by crook. some things we nail down in 5mins flat, somethings take longer. as long as we get you sorted, it's always worth it :)
