Hopefully someone here may have a suggestion or an answer for me with my problem.

1.Current set up Sony 720A DVD DL RW with up to date firmware
    2.Verbatim DVD+R DL Disc
3.I normally use Imgburn, but have recently tried CloneCD most recent versions
4.DVD file and ISO file are in the same folder, I choose the DVD file when burning
    5.I burn at 1x
6.Until now I have never burned a DL disc, I normally just used the drive to backup DVDs

The issue that I am having and have had it with more than one game(downloaded), that the burning process will either stop half way through at exactly 50% or finish to 100% but with an error that it didn't complete. More recently it says "writing leadin" but never starts burning and will just set there. I receive no errors in the buring log. If the game does complete, I continue to get a dirty disc error while playing. I have only successfully burned one game with no problems. Just to make sure that the drive hadnt crapped out, I backed up and burned 3 seperate DVDs. Anyone have any suggestions for me on whats happening or how to fix the problem? Thanks!

Have you tried burning at a faster speed?

Do you load a .dvd file with your burning program so it burns the correct layer break or set it at the proper layer break in the burning application?

I have tried buring at a faster speed 2.4x I still get the same errors. I also load the .dvd file when selecting which file to burn. I am currenty burning one of the games with my wifes computer to see if we encounter the same problems.

One more update I also run the games through ABGX prior to buring as well. I have the ABGX set with the guide from this site.

Update, I uninstalled and reinstalled the Sony drive and was able to complete the burning process, however still received a dirty disc error. I reburned the game, that had an error(above) prior, and was able to compelte the burn process and have not received a dirty disc error. It seems that the above post on using an LG is the key. I will use the wife's computer from now on. I would have to say the answer to my initial question, its my Sony burner. Thanks!
