Problems burning San Andreas to softmodded hdd

I just got GTA San Andreas for the xbox. The problem is that when I save it to my softmodded hdd it won't boot when selected. As a matter of fact the original game disk won't even play unless I power up or reboot the box w/the game already in it. I have a v 1.6 xbox w/a 80 gig samsung hdd, and I used the SID mechasault 2.0 game save hack to mod it. I have plenty of room left and I have tried to save it to both e and f partitions. As a side note let me add that I also have a version 1.1 box that is modded w/SID mechassault 3.0 and the game works perfectly on it. The version 1.1 has a factory hdd, and a newer version of the mod but it doesn't seem like that should matter. Please help.

what dash are you using? For some reason it's having problems with the evox dash, but there are some settings you might be able to change in yoursettings that 'might' make it work. If you're using another dash other than evox you shouldn't have any troubles.

    -from what I've heard

I'm also having problems backing up GTA san andreas. I use evox, and when i try and play the game off the hdd, it just tells me it's loading and then loads back to the dashboard. What can I do to get the backup to play from the hdd? thanks

    Hi all,

If you go into System Settings on evox and set all 3 In Game Reset options to No that should do it.

    Regards.

ok 1, evok sucks, get avalaunch for reason just like this, i have it and didnt have to change any settings

2 get complex tools if you dont have it, its not a dash but a prog and should boot out of any dash. it iso's xbox discs to your hdd. its the best one ive found. I also have a old xbox, you know the ones that have disc read errors due to faulty drives(still havnt discovered this problem with mine, but whatever) and at first my gta would get to the menu, start the first load screen and then give me the disc read error, but after a couple times of ripping it, i got a flawless rip and it works fine. also sometimes if you choose to launch games out of complex tools rather then your dash for the first time, itll work, and then from there on it should boot out or your dash just fine

I'd get both complex tools and dvd2xbox....because one program might get a media check fix before the other. Good to have both.

First off let me apologize, for going so long w/out checking the replies to this thread. Secondly let me thank everyone who responded w/the intention of helping. With that being said, 12ick2000 hit it on the nose. All i had to do was set the game region mode to auto and it worked like a charm. Gotta love Afterdawn.

I am having the same problem. I am not trying to copy the game onto my computer for burning though, I just want to put it on my xbox hdd to play. When I load it thru the main dash or thru complex tools it just says loading and then goes back to the main dashboard. Will changing the settings mentioned in other replies fix this as well?? I have never had this problem with any other game before..

    Cheers

go to your dashboard system settings
scroll down till you see region select
    then set it to auto

note: the game has to be on ur xbox hdd for this to work

u sure your region settings are on auto?
thats seems to be about the only thing that fixes it.
also make sure you have a working copy
